Patrick Kanters
Managing Director Global Real Assets, APG Asset Management

Patrick Kanters is Managing Director Real Assets of APG Asset Management. APG Asset Management is specialized in managing pension capital, offering asset management services to the pension funds of the government, education and construction sectors and housing corporations. Based in the Amsterdam office he is responsible for all real estate, infrastructure and natural resource fund activities. The holdings are concentrated in securities of publicly traded real estate, infrastructure and natural resources companies and selected private entities, funds and co-investments in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. The responsibility for infrastructure was added in May 2012 followed by natural resources in April 2017.

Prior to joining APG (then ABP) in 2005, Patrick worked for ING Real Estate for 11 years. Most formerly he was Managing Director of the Investment Management department covering the European markets.

From 2008 to 2017 Patrick has been member of the Board of Steen & Strom, the leading Scandinavian shopping center investor, operator and developer. In addition, Patrick has served as chairman of the Management Board of INREV, is member of the Executive Board of the European Public Real Estate Association, is member of GRESB that was co-founded by APG, is ULI Europe Executive Committee member and ULI Trustee.

Patrick holds a MSc in Real Estate, Project Management & Housing from the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands and received a post doctorate degree in Real Estate from the University of Amsterdam. He has attended senior executive courses at INSEAD and Harvard.

Jean-Pierre Hanin
CEO Cofinimmo

Jean-Pierre Hanin has a licentiate degree in Law from the KUL (Catholic University of Leuven). He also holds a Master in Tax Management from the Solvay Business School and a LL.M from Georgetown University. He started his career as a business lawyer. He then joined various international groups where he took up financial and management positions, among which Chief Financial and Chief Executive Officer of Lhoist Group, global leader in lime and dolime. More recently, he was Chief Financial Officer then manager of the Building Performance division of the construction materials group Etex. His functions led him to operate in various regions all over the world for over 20 years, ans to carry out both consolidations and development activities. He is since 2018 CEO at Cofinimmo.

Pierre Hanin will share with us the strategy of Cofinimmo which is based principally on two asset classes, offices and healthcare. As a « new kid on the block », he will present his vision of the current real estate market: strengths, weaknesses, clichés and new trends. 

Marnix Galle
Executive Chairman IMMOBEL

Marnix Galle, having completed his schooling in the United States (High School Degree from Indian Springs High School in Birmingham, Alabama), he earned his University degree in Economics as a Major at Tulane University (New Orleans, Louisiana). He began his professional career as a consultant. He made his first steps in real estate as of 1989 (family portfolio) and created in 2001 Allfin Group which became a leading real estate developer in the Belgian and Luxembourg markets. 

Following the merger between Allfin Group and Immobel, Marnix Galle became majority shareholder and Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Immobel in 2016, creating the largest listed property developer in Belgium.

Stefaan Gielens
CEO Aedifica

Stefaan Gielens is since 2006 CEO of the Belgian REIT Aedifica, listed on Euronext Brussels. Following his Master degree in Law, he started his career at the bar of Brussels and later joined KBC Group. He is a MRICS member. 

Aedifica has a pure play healthcare real estate investment strategy in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. The strategy of Aedifica is focused on the demographic trend of population ageing in Europe and the specific real estate needs this trend implies in terms of care/cure and housing.

Stefaan Gielens will share with us his strategy of concentration on the healthcare sector coupled with geographical diversification. 


Gaétan Clermont
CEO Eaglestone

Gaétan Clermont holds a master in Management Engineering (Solvay Business School, Belgium). He also attended the Executive Education Programme at Harvard Business School and a training in « Financial Services » at Accenture in Chicago. He started his career working for the Indosuez Bank. From September 1999 until May 2016, Gaétan Clermont was CEO of CBRE Belgium, Luxemburg & Switzerland, member of the Board of Directors of CBRE EMEA and CBRE France. He is currently CEO and shareholder of the Eaglestone Group (Belgium and Luxemburg). 

Gaétan Clermont will tell us about his experience in the different segments of the real estate market, and talk about a market context that needs innovative and careful strategies. 

Philip Walravens
Executive Director at Tribeca Capital Partners

Philip Walravens has a long experience in the commercial real estate industry since 1999. He holds a Bsc in marketing, a Msc in real estate and followed several executive courses at London School of Economics.  He has been playing an active role at AG Real Estate, BNP Paribas Real Estate a nd Cushman & Wakefield before starting in 2006 Tribeca Capital Partners (group company of Reventon). 

Philip Walravens is one of the professional participants in the open discussion on the impact of fiscal changes on the real estate market. 

Chris Staveley
Head of Investor Client Relations at JLL

Chris Staveley is an International Director based in London in the EMEA Capital Markets Team of JLL. He has 23 years of commercial real estate experience, the last 20 years with JLL.  His work qualification is a BSc in Real Estate Investment and Finance. Chris Staveley is also member of the MRICS and of the Urban Land Institute Europe (ULI).

Chris Staveley will provide in-depth analysis of the latest capital markets figures and investment flows for global and European real estate. Money tends to move to regions and core products with a perceived potential for added value. These products are rare and expensive – in Brussels prime core office investment values are on average between 6.700 and 7.300 EUR/m2 , with yields of between 4 and 4,5 %.

Laurent Fléchet
Deputy CEO Primonial Group

Laurent Fléchet is a qualified lawyer. He joined Archon Group (Goldman Sachs Group) then, in 2002, Ixis AEW Europe (Groupe Caisse des Dépôts), where he was in charge of the portfolio management department. In 2006, he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board at Ciloger (Groupe Caisse d’Epargne and Banque Postale) where he was involved in launching the company’s first OPCIs (listed French real estate investment trusts). In June 2011, he moved to Groupe Primonial as Deputy CEO in charge of real estate. Primonial REIM creates, structures and manages collective real estate investment solutions fort individual and institutional investors.

Laurent Fléchet will present the portfolio of Primonial which distinguishes itself by a large degree of diversification. He will also present his market strategy 2019-2020 for Europe and Belgium – where Primonial purchased part of the Aedifica portfolio earlier this year.

Alessandro Tentori
Chief Investment Officer, AXA Investment Managers Italy

Alessandro Tentori joined AXA Investment Managers in 2017 as Chief Investment Officer in Italy. He is also member of the Investment Strategy team.

Before joining AXA IM, Alessandro worked at Citigroup from 2012 to 2016 as Managing Director. He was responsible for International Interest Rate Strategy. Prior to that he worked for nine years at BNP Paribas, running European Interest Strategy. He also worked for Hypovereinsbank as FX/FI analyst and Bank Austria as Economist. He spent several years working on research projects in the field of non-linear dynamics and New Keynesian economics, eventually being granted a PhD in economics and mathematics from Vienna University. He was graduated from Vienna University in 1999.

As Chief Investment Officer, Alessandro Tentori has a global vision of the market. He will talk about current monetary policies and their possible impact on the new balance between bonds and real estate products that investors have to find in a context of rising interest rates.

Grégory Jurion
Tax Partner and Head of the Belgian RE Group PwC

Grégory Jurion is a tax partner and is heading the real estate division of PwC Belgium. His work qualification is a law degree from the University of Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve) and a master in law from the Solvay Business School (Brussels). He has a broad spectrum of specialist experience in international and national real estate matters (tax structures and support), international tax planning and succession planning. 

Grégory Jurion will introduct and preside the open discussion on the impact of fiscal evolution on the real estate market. 

Sheelam Chadha
Head of Investment Belux, Patrizia

Sheelam Chadha, British Canadian, moved to Brussels in 2007 from her native London. Starting as a senior analyst at JLL, she became head of research and an investment Associate Director at Savills in London and Brussels in 2008. In 2011, IVG hired her to head up the investment department (Belgium and Luxembourg). 

She personally carried out almost EUR 1BN of sales and acquisitions for IVG in Belgium and Luxembourg. IVG rebranded its fund business to Triuva which was sold to Patrizia late 2017. In 2018, Patrizia  completed over Eur 200Mio of acquisitions in Belgium and Luxembourg. 

Sheelam studied at London Guildhall University where she completed her BA and Masters in Politics and Media Law as well as a Real Estate Master Program at Harvard Business School.

Sheelam will join the debate to discuss the views of institutional investors.

Xavier Denis
Chair of ULI Belgium & Chief Development Officer at AG Real Estate

Xavier Denis is a member of the Management Committee and the Board of Directors at AG Real Estate, a Brussels based real estate investor and developer. As Chief Development Officer, he is responsible for all development projects. Prior to his current position, Xavier was Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at Cofinimmo, a diversified REIT. Graduated as Civil Engineer Architect, he received a MBA from INSEAD and attended different programmes at the Harvard Business School. He is Chair of the Urban Land Institute for Belgium & Luxembourg.

As chairman of ULI Belgium and as first speaker, Xavier Denis will focus on the link between the general economic context and the current challenges facing real estate.  

Jean-Philip Vroninks
CEO Belux at JLL

Jean-Philip Vroninks started his career at Citibank as a Relationship Associate. As from October 2003, he joined King Sturge Belgium where he became managing director in 2009. Following the merger of King Sturge and JLL, Jean-Philip Vroninks was the head of the Belux Capital Markets team. At the beginning of 2017, Jean-Philip became CEO of the Belgium and Luxembourg offices. 

As CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Belgium & Luxembourg, Jean-Philip Vronincks is one of the two hosts of the Investment Forum 2019 (together with Xavier Denis chairman of ULI).

Bénédicte Paviot
UK Correspondent for France 24

Bénédicte Paviot is an Anglo-French TV and Radio journalist based in London. She is the UK Correspondent for the French international news channel, France 24 and reports for both their English and French 24-hour News Channels on major events in the UK: political, economic, social and cultural. From Brexit, the EU and Scottish Referendums, UK Elections, the conflicts in Syria, Libya and Iraq to terrorist attacks in the UK, tax evasion, the Migrants’ crisis in the Med, the London 2012 Olympics and big Royal events. Also, EU, G8 and G20 Summits and French, EU and US elections. She has worked as a news and current affairs presenter/reporter for: BBC World Service, BBC World, BBC News 24, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 5 Live and Radio France Internationale. Previously, she was UK Correspondent for BFMTV and Business FM. She is a regular contributor to news and current affairs programmes on BBC TV & Radio, Sky News, LBC… She is the President of the Foreign Press Association in London. In February 2017, she received the insignia of France’s National Order of Merit. Bénédicte is an experienced international conference moderator, chairing EU- and government-sponsored conferences, debates and workshops – in the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UAE. Also for Chatham House and the U.S. State Department. Topics include: The Future of the EU, Geopolitics and Macro-Economics, Migration, Media Pluralism in the Digital Age, EU Territorial co-operation and development, Innovation and Technology, e-Health, Sustainable development, the EU and World Water management…
